Khan embraces the colour red throughout this painting without using the colour red at all. The process behind this painting Khan states is that 'the painting required a rigorous process in which I made marks of colours closer to red and kept painting over them with jarring colours so that red is there, but not quite; the narrative is open to different interpretations.'
