Virtual Exhibition Project
Exploring the possibilities
to make a change.
The digital way.
About the Project
The Viewing Room is a virtual exhibition project inspired by my current freelance platform Stay Connected. Stay Connected is a virtual exhibition platform designed to bring artists together and still exhibit work during the national lockdown. As the project developed, the enthusiasm to connect and engage with a larger audience was the next step forward; bringing to life The Viewing Room.

The Viewing Room is a new and exciting virtual exhibition platform aimed at contemporary galleries. The aim is simple, to propose a stay open approach to galleries affected by the national lockdown.
The Viewing Room offers to replicate the galleries existing space and deliver a new selection of artists. Due to the exhibitions virtual presence, the possibilities are endless. From the artists exhibiting to the design of the overall space, The Viewing Room expands what exhibition design and contemporary spaces can look like in the digital realm.

Could this be a step forward towards the new reality of contemporary exhibitions?
The Viewing Room is an opportunity to grow your audience and digital presence.
The Viewing Room -
Ways of Working
Collaboration, Design & Engagement

The Viewing Room focuses on three key areas - collaboration, design and engagement. Through collaboration, The Viewing Room works with the galleries to design a replicated space inspired by the possibilities of virtual design. The physical restrictions that may be there in reality could be accessible in the virtual realm. Ultimately, allowing the gallery space to be more accessible when viewing digitally, thriving as a new and improved space to showcase artwork.

As the virtual space has no physical restrictions, the design becomes open and experimental - anything is possible. It is at this point where engagement becomes a key feature!

The Viewing Room works with the artists involved. 3D or installation work is re-built and replicated by digital software's. The artists involved plays a crucial part in the design and curation of the whole exhibition.
The use of 360 rendering and virtual walkthroughs allows the audience to attend and be involved with artwork as much as possible. Although the audience is absent in their physicality, allowing them to have an immersive digital experience is just as important as the build.
