"I make paintings of a predominantly urban world. I've made several pieces about ruins and destruction. To me landscape speaks directly to the emotions and can be highly symbolic of emotional states. In portraying demolition and building sites I hope to empathise not only with the tragedy of loss and disappointment, but also the more positive side of rebuilding and renewal of hope." - Imogen Perkin
